    Corey Hawkins Roped In For 24

    TheWrap has reported that Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins will play the lead in Fox’s new series 24: Legacy. The actor played the role of Dr. Dre in the 2015 film and will next be seen in Kong: Skull Island which will hit theaters in March next year. In 24, Corey will play the role of Eric Carter, a member of the army rangers.

    The series of course will have a similar theme to the hit Emmy Award-winning drama franchise. Carter will have to struggle with his own past to prevent one of the largest scale terror attacks on America. 20th Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and Gordon’s Teakwood Lane Productions will produce the project.

    The original series ended in 2010 and starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. Over a journey of eight seasons, the actor was nominated for several awards for his performance including Outstanding Lead Actor. 24 was created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran.
