Cracks developed in Cruise-Holmes marriage long ago

A few days after Katie Holmes shocked the world by filing for divorce from her superstar husband Tom Cruise, the mystery behind their relationship is unravelling fast. It is being reported that the Hollywood couple had started to live separately in the same house long ago. While Cruise' living quarters were on one side of a large communal area, Katie lived on the other side of their apartment. "It was really weird in all respects... Tom and Katie had a lot of people coming to see them there, to cut their hair and cook for them and stuff," a source said. "Everyone knew they stayed in separate sections of the apartment but nobody mentioned it. Katie was really embarrassed about it, and didn't seem to like people to see the way they were living behind closed doors," the source added. There are also reports that Katie has rented a house in New York just prior to filing for divorce. The Batman Begins actress married to Cruise in 2006 after a whirlwind romance. In the meantime, Tom has filed for divorce in California aiming to get the joint custody of his six-year-old-daughter Suri Cruise challenging Holmes demand of sole custody. The 33-year-old actress will reportedly get $15 million for the five-year union with the Top Gun star besides receiving the ownership of their $35 million Beverly Hills mansion.
