Stana Katic set to return for Castle 8

Stana Katic has confirmed that she will return for the eighth season of Castle. The actress confirmed the news on Twitter, writing that she is excited to be continuing with the show as Kate Beckett. Nathan Fillion had already signed up for the next season last month.

"I'm so pleased to announce that, after talking with our new show runners, Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley (both of whom I've had the pleasure of working with on the show before) I'm excited about the future plans for Beckett and delighted to be returning for a Season 8 of Castle," Katic tweeted.

Show creators Andrew Marlowe and his wife Terri Edda Miller announced, via Twitter, earlier this week that they would be exiting the show after season seven. “There is a universal truth we all have to face, whether we want to or not…Everything eventually ends,” they wrote in a joint statement. “As much as I’ve looked forward to this day, I’ve always disliked endings… Today is one of those days for us. Today we say goodbye to everything that was familiar, everything that was comfortable. We’re moving on. But just because we’re leaving, and that hurts, there are some people who are so much a part of us, that they’ll be with us no matter where we are. They are our solid ground, our north stars, and the small clear voices in our hearts that will be with us…Always. Andrew Marlowe & Terri Miller,” they added. Castle season seven launches next Wednesday on May 20 at 9pm on Alibi.
