Daisy Ridley Wants To Be The Next Lara Croft

The recent buzz in Hollywood suggested the plans for a Tomb Raider reboot from Warner Bros. and MGM. It was also stated that the studios are looking for the female lead and Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Daisy Ridley was the front runner for it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress stated that there “have been conversations” regarding the reboot.

Showing her interest in the project, Daisy stated, “I’m waiting for someone to say ‘I want you, let’s do it’. Absolutely, I’m trying to fill up my calendar”. The actress is currently busy with the eighth episode of the epic Star Wars franchise. Her co-star John Boyega also wants the actress to go for the role.

John revealed, “I played ‘Tomb Raider’ the game, it’s a new take and I think the movies are going to be based on that version. But I texted Daisy [and] was like, ‘this is you!’ and ‘you need to get on that because you could be Lara Croft.’ She should be”. The Tomb Raider reboot will be directed by Roar Uthaug and the script will be written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
