Damián Szifron to write for Six Billion Dollar Man

Damián Szifron is set to write the script for Peter Berg’s Six Billion Dollar Man. Szifron was the writer and director of Wind Tales. The movie was nominated for an Oscar, in the category of best foreign language film this year.

“I couldn’t be more honoured and grateful. Such a major challenge represents a great opportunity”. “The themes surrounding this beloved property allow for the creation of a memorable sci-fi actioner as well as a bold spy thriller. Expectations are high and I’ll do my best to deliver the strongest basis for an amazing cinematic experience”, said Szifron.

The movie is the big screen adaption of the ‘70s television series. The story focuses on Steve Austin, a military officer who is brought back to life after a near fatal event. In a bid to save him technology is used on him, which has made Austin into the first bionic man with new abilities. The movie will be produced by Mark Wahlberg, Steven Levinson and Bob Weinstein under the banner of TWC-Dimension.
