After adapting Stephen King’s horror novel It, Paramount is all set to adapt his other novel. The studio is all set to adapt his 1983 horror novel Pet Semetary.  Director duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, who directed the horror flick Starry Eyes, have been approached to helm the film.

The novel was first brought to the screen in a 1989 movie of the same name directed by Mary Lambert and written by King along with Steven Schneider. The upcoming film's script will be written by Jeff Buhler. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing the remake.

The original film showed Louis Creed and his wife Rachel moving to their new home along with their two children. Soon, they find out that there is a creepy Pet Sematary near their home. It is said that animals buried there come back to life. They witness their cat who was being run over coming back to life. Thinking of this, they bury their dead son in the cemetery in an attempt to bring him back to life. But it doesn’t happen.
