Dev Patel Set To Join Armando Iannucci’s ‘David Copperfield’ Film

Actor Dev Patel is set to be seen in Film Nation’s new development of Charles Dickens’ The Personal History of David Copperfield. The actor will be stepping into the shoes of David Copperfield in the film. The flick is being penned by Armando Iannucci, who had earlier created Veep.

According to reports, the project will offer a contemporary take on the title character of Dickens as he navigates a messy world to find his mysterious place within it. Moreover, the original film describes the journey of the titular character.Further, the film is going to be financed by Kevin Loader and Iannucci along with FilmNation developing it.

As per reports reveal, it is being directed by Iannucci from a script he wrote with Simon Blackwell. The duo had earlier collaborated with Tony Roche and Jesse Armstrong for the 2009 project In the Loop. The film also received a nomination for the Academy Awards.
