DeWanda Wise To Star In ‘Captain Marvel’

DeWanda Wise has been tapped into star in Disney- Marvel ’s ‘Captain Marvel’. Apart from Wise, the movie will also feature Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Jude Law. The movie will be the actress’ first film.

The project will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. ‘Inside Out’ scriptwriters Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman will be writing the script for the film. The story of Captain Marvel focuses on Marvel character Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. As a result of being with the super powers of strength, energy project and flight, he becomes Captain Marvel.

The makers have not yet revealed the plots of the film. Disney is planning to release the movie on March 8, 2019. DeWanda also plays the lead role of Nola Darling in Netflix’s series ‘She’s Gotta Have It’. The project is based on Spike Lee’s film of the same name which released in 1986.
