The Dinner Reserves Richard Gere, Steve Coogan, Laura Linney

Protagonist Pictures has revealed that Richard Gere, Steve Coogan and Laura Linney have been roped in for the movie The Dinner. Writer-director Oren Moverman will helm the project. The shooting is expected to commence this week in New York City.

The Dinner will be based on a book with the same name by Dutch author Herman Koch. Richard Gere and Steve Coogan will play brothers who meet up at a restaurant along with their wives Laura Linney and Rebecca Hall, who has also been cast in the film. They talk about their kids and share their parental experiences.

Moverman spoke about The Dinner and said that it is “an extraordinarily provocative, conscience-bending ride that takes on culturally relevant issues and turns them into an intricate menu of human passions and primal fears”. It was previously reported that Cate Blanchett was supposed to make her directorial debut with this film but it did not work out.
