Variety has reported that Hollywood director Chris McKay, who had recently directed The Lego Batman Movie pic for Warner Bros might be roped in to direct the upcoming film Dungeons and Dragons for Paramount Pictures. The script of the flick is being penned by Michael Gillio. And it is being financed by Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis.

Moreover, this film will be one of the first projects for the newbie AllSpark Pictures, which was launched last year in October . The film has been progressing, however, the lawsuit between Sweetpea Entertainment and Hasbro about acquiring ownership of sequel rights delayed the advancement.

Further, the settlement was finalised in 2015 and later Hasbro moved the project from Warner Bros. to Paramount and finally to AllSpark after the announcement of the new studio. Meanwhile, McKay has earlier helmed films like The Lego Batman Movie and Nightwing for Warner Bros. and DC. He is also an executive producer for The Lego Sequel, which is currently being filmed.
