The Jungle Book was first published in 1894 and was adapted by Justin Marks for Disney. Producers for the adaptation have not been finalised yet. The studio will face a tough competition from a rival project as Harry Potter script-writer Steve Kloves has been roped in by Warner Bros. The Jungle Book’s lead character is Mowgli who is a young human child nourished by wolves in a forest and his friends include a bear and a panther in the Indian jungles. Walt Disney created an animated version of the book and he died when the movie was undergoing production.
