    Disney postpones Pirates of the Caribbean 5 release date till 2016

    The summer 2015 release date of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 has been postponed by Disney and now the makers are looking for a slot in 2016. As Pirates of the Caribbean 5 was supposed to release on July 10, other films stayed away from the particular date to avoid a box-office clash with the all-time favourite worldwide.

    The studio and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have received an advanced outline from Jeff Nathanson, who is writing the script. Directors Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg of Kon-Tiki fame have also got on the board but they are new to any large-scale movie like Pirates of the Caribbean series. The studio is hopeful that production may undergo in February. The decision of postponement has been taken as the makers need to be more assured about the quality of the script.

    Disney is not going to take any chance as they have several other projects in the pipeline to be released during summer 2015. There is a sequel to The Avengers and also the first of the next three instalments of the Star Wars franchise. Marvel pic Ant-Man and Inside Out from Pixar are also in the queue. Johnny Depp, who is busy with Into The Woods and Alice In Wonderland 2, will also get enough time to be prepared for his Jack Sparrow role. Disney production president Sean Bailey said, “Like audiences around the globe, we have high expectations for Jack Sparrow’s next adventure and we want to have all the right elements in place,”adding that,“We’re not there yet and we want to make sure this project is everything these wonderful characters and of course the fans deserve.”
