    Christopher Nolan's 'Dunkirk' has conquered every international market. However, the World War II epic has easily dominated the Chinese box office on its first day. The critically acclaimed movie was released in China on September 1st this year.

    It has been revealed by the sources that Nolan's latest movie earned USD 30 million at its premiere release. The movie which has become the second best in China after 'Interstellar' has grossed a remarkable USD 5.7 million from 436 IMAX screens. However, recently the movie was criticised for eliminating the role of the Indian Army in the historic battle.

    Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar's USD 42.6 million opening in 2014 still remains superior in context of the gross collection. Even if 'Dunkirk's debut lagged behind Warner Bros celebrated his success, noting that the opening was up to the mark of  Oscar contenders like 'Gravity' and 'The Revenant', which earned 35.8 million USD and 31 million USD each. Meanwhile, 'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' directed by Luc Besson plunged 78 percent in its second weekend, earning USD 6.2 million.
