Dwayne Johnson Is Next Wolf Man?

Dwayne Johnson is in serious demand right now. According to a report from Deadline about Dwayne is producing a feature film adaptation of the graphic novel Son of Shaolin for Sony, there are “persistent rumors” that Universal wants Johnson to star in The Wolf Man, a reboot of the horror classic that’s pretty self-explanatory.

The Wolf Man franchise was launched in 1941 with Lon Chaney Jr. playing the title character, which spawned Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), House of Frankenstein (1944), House of Dracula (1945) and Bud Abbott Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948), which all featured the Wolf Man.

Deadline reports that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is being sought to star in their new take on The Wolf Man. The casting is not official by any stretch and there is no confirmation that there are any actual talks; just that Universal has shown interest.

The Universal Monster universe will kick off with The Mummy, which Alex Kurtzman is directing and which stars Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson and Courtney B. Vance. It releases on June 9th, 2017 followed by mystery films on April 13th, 2018 and February 15th, 2019.
