Ed Zwick in talks to direct Jack Reacher 2

Ed Zwick is in talks to direct Jack Reacher sequel. Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz will also be rewriting the script for the sequel. The original script for Jack Reacher 2 was written by Richard Wenk.

The film, which featured Tom Cruise in the lead role made over $218 million worldwide at the box office. The original movie was written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, which was based upon the Lee Child novel series. Tom Cruise has already assured his return for the sequel to the filmmakers.

Apart from working together in The Last Samurai, Zwick and Cruise have also collaborated for writing the script for the Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway starrer Love And Other Drugs. Jack Reacher 2 will be produced by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions. The film will be based on the book Never Go Back, which was published in 2013.
