Edgar Wright Returning For ‘Baby Driver’ Sequel?

Sources have stated that Sony has approached Edgar Wright to make a sequel for his most recent film ‘Baby Driver’. Released on June 28, the movie starred Ansel Elgort, Jon Bernthal, Jon Hamm and Eiza González, along with others. It is performing well at the box office and has brought in more than $48 million worldwide.

The director was asked about the sequel to which he said, “I sort of have an idea that if you did another one you would subvert his involvement in the crime in a different way so he's not kind of the apprentice anymore”. This will be the first time he will be working on a sequel to one of his projects, technically.

‘Baby Driver’ showed Ansel playing a getaway driver with an always changing team of bank robbers. The production budget for the flick was $34 million which has already been recovered. The producers include Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
