Elena Kampouris has been cast in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. The 17-year-old actress has previously worked in films such as Labour Day and Men, Women and Children. The sequel to the 2002, hit comedy film will helmed by Kirk Jones.

The movie will be produced by Rita Wilson and Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman along with Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer, Steven Shareshian and Vardalos. The 17-year-old actress should fit right in, as she is half Greek. Kampouris was born to a Greek father and an American mother.

The original movie starred Nia Vardalos and was directed by Joel Zwick. The film, which was made on a production budget of $5 million was a huge commercial success and earned over $368 million worldwide. Kampouris recently played Ellen Barkin’s daughter in Tom McCarthy’s The Cobbler. The actress is currently appearing on NBC drama series American Odyssey.
