Elton John Biopic Will Release In May 2019

Yes, you heard it right! A biopic on living legendary musician Elton John which is titled as 'Rocketman', will release on May 17, 2019. According to reports, Taron Egerton is essaying the role of John at various stages of his life. The film is highlighting a five-decade-long career.

The announcement of releasing the musical movie on May 17, 2019, was made by Paramount Pictures. Dexter Fletcher, who is also filming Bohemian Rhapsody, will be helming the film from a script by Lee Hall. Further, John is bankrolling it with Marv Films and Matthew Vaughn alongside the singer's Rocket Pictures partner and husband David Furnish.

As said, the shooting on the project will begin in August. Egerton will be singing some of John's most famous compositions himself for it. Moreover, discussing the tone of the movie, the 28-year old British actor has teased that it will be a "fantasy musical" inspired by the musician's journey to the top rather than a straightforward biopic.
