Emma Stone in talks to star in musical La La Land

Emma Stone is in talks to star in Damien Chazelle’s musical La La Land, reported by TheWrap. The actress recently opted out from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Emma Stone has been in talks to star for several months.

The movie revolves around the dreams of an aspiring actress and a jazz pianist living in Los Angeles. While the city that brought them together could also tear them apart as they realized that it’s not easy to balance love and art in such an intensely competitive environment. The grapevine has it that Ryan Gosling is favourite to bag the leading role alongside Emma Stone, but Miles Teller has asked Damien Chazelle to consider Eddie Redmayne to play the lead.

The movie is produced by Jordan Horowitz via Gilbert Films and Fred Berger under the banner of Imposter Pictures. The film will be helmed by Damien Chazelle reuniting him with Whiplash composer, Justin Hurwitz. The 26-year-old actress, who was last seen in the Oscar-winning movie Birdman, wants to secure her role in the musical, which has been billed as a song-and-dance romance.
