Fifty Shades of Grey screenwriter Kelly Marcel didn’t watch the film

Fifty Shades of Grey might have minted $500 million across the world but the screenplay writer of the film, Kelly Marcel hasn’t watched the film herself. Recently, she revealed the conflicting thoughts about the film. She said, ‘A lot of what happened on ‘Fifty Shades’ really broke my heart’.

Talking of the author of the film, E. L. James, Marcel said that both of them went back and forth in order to decide what to keep and what not. She said, “She would always let me fight for things that I felt passionate about. “And in the end, we ended up with a draft that was a halfway compromise. But she had still been very brave about what she had let go”.

Reportedly, the director of the flick, Sam Taylor-Johnson has also opted out of the sequel Fifty Shades Darker. The reason behind her exit is constant arguments over directing the Fifty Shades of Grey. Marcel is also not working in the sequel of the film. Instead of her, James husband has been tapped in to write the screenplay. Fifty Shades of Darker will release on February 10 in 2017.
