First Trailer For Snowden Released

Take a look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Edward Snowden in the first official trailer for the upcoming movie ‘Snowden’, released by Open Road Films. The movie will tell the untold story of former Central Intelligence Agency employee Edward Snowden who exposed illegal surveillance operations carried out by the NSA. The movie has been directed by Oliver Stone and will be released on September 16.

Some people consider him a hero while others call him a traitor. The trailer shows Joseph discovering something that he just can’t ignore and then trying to hide from the government. He approaches a group of people, who seem to be journalists, to get the information he has to the public.

The script for the film has been based on Luke Harding’s ‘The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man’ and Anatoly Kucherena’s ‘Time of the Octopus’. The cast for ‘Snowden’ includes Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Melissa Leo, Nicolas Cage, Timothy Olyphant and Rhys Ifans. Edward Snowden was given asylum by Russian authorities in 2013. In 2015, he was living in Russia in an undisclosed location, looking for asylum somewhere else.
