    Former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore dies at 89

    Former James Bond actor Roger Moore died on Tuesday. He was 89.

    His family announced the news on Twitter.

    They said he had died in Switzerland of cancer.



    Roger Moore played MI6 agent James Bond in seven films in between 1973 and 1985.

    His 12 years as James Bond, the British agent with a voracious appetite for danger and sex, made Moore a millionaire as well as a heartthrob the world over.

    Born on October 14, 1927, Roger Moore started working as a model in early 1950s before making it big in Hollywood.
