Furious 7's winning streak at Box Office continues in third week

Furious 7 won the box office for the third consecutive weekend with an estimated $29.1 million in U.S. and Canada. Paul Walker’s last cinematic outing slipped 51 percent, but it was still a great week for Universal’s blockbuster. Furious 7 passed the $1 billion mark in global sales on Friday in a record time of 17 days. The film starring Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Michelle Rordriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, and Dwayne Johnson brought in $1.153 billion in worldwide ticket sales so far.

In second place, comedy sequel ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2’ starring Kevin James, David Henrie, and Raini Rodriguez opened with a solid $24 million, which is a bit of dip from the first film (Paul Blart: Mall Cop), which opened to $31 million in 2009. The first part managed to gross $146 million at the domestic box office.

The horror film ‘Unfriended’ starring Shelley Hennig and Will Peltz, took a decent third place. The social media themed thriller earned $16 million and with a reported $1 million production budget. DreamWorks Animation's ‘Home’ and ‘The Longest Ride’ rounded out the top five with $10.3 million and $6.9 million, respectively.
