    Game of Thrones Breaks Record For Most Number Of Emmy Awards Won By Any Fictional Series

    The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards were presented on September 18 and HBO’s Game of Thrones won the Outstanding Drama Series Award for the second year in a row. The show broke the record for most number of Emmy’s with 38 awards, till now. The previous record of 37 awards was held by the sitcom Frasier.

    Game of Thrones was nominated for 24 awards of which it won 12. The other awards include the Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series, Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series, Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series and several others. Miguel Sapotchnik won the Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series for the episode ‘Battle of the Bastards’.

    Along with Game of Thrones, The People v OJ Simpson also secured several awards including Outstanding Limited Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series. Rami Malik won the Emmy Award for best leading actor in a drama series, for her performance in Mr. Robot. Veep was awarded the Outstanding Comedy Series Award.
