    The 2015 Primetime Emmy Award nominations have been announced. Game of Thrones, HBO’s fantasy drama, has gained 24 nominations, including a nomination for outstanding drama series. American Horror: Freak Show has got 19 nominations and Olive Kitteridge has received 13.

    Other contenders in the drama series category are ‘Orange Is the New Black’ and ‘House of Cards’ from Netflix, ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ from AMC and Showtime’s ‘Homeland’. PBS’ ‘Downton Abbey’ is also among them. The nominees for the comedy series category are ‘Louie’, ‘Modern Family’, ‘Parks and Recreation’, ‘Silicon Valley’, ‘Veep’, ‘Transparent’ and ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’.

    HBO has got a total of 126 nominations which is a new record from its 124 nominations back in 2004. ABC received 42 nominations in total, followed by 41 nominations each for NBC and CBS. FX Networks, Fox and Netflix got 38, 35 and 34 nominations respectively. The Primetime Emmy Award show will be aired on September 20 on Fox. Andy Samberg will be hosting the event.
