The 42nd edition of the Cesar Awards, which is France’s equivalent of the Oscars, will honor Ocean’s Eleven actor George Clooney with the Cesar Award. The ceremony will be held on February 24 in Paris. Last year, Michael Douglas received the honorary Cesar Award and before him, Meryl Streep, Sean Penn and Roman Polanski were some of the celebrities who were honored by it.

France’s Academy of Arts and Techniques of Cinema praised Clooney and said, “The most charismatic actor of his generation, George Clooney embodies the Hollywood glamour that big cinema stars have. His charm, sense of humor, personality and engagement are at the heart of our perpetual and eternal admiration”. The actor was in France last May when his latest film ‘Money Monster’ premiered at Cannes Film Festival.

Clooney’s next directorial venture titled ‘Suburbicon’ will be hitting the screen later this year. The movie is being touted as a mystery criminal comedy film. The script has been written by Joel and Ethan Coen.
