Han Solo Candidates Shortlisted

It is known that the search is on for a young Han Solo in the Star Wars Story film. The movie will focus on the origin of the smuggler and thief who meets Obi-Wan and Luke Skywalker. Now, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety have stated that the list of possible candidates for the role has been cut down to five actors.

The nominees include Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor, Taron Egerton, Jack O’Connell and Blake Jenner. These actors were finalised after going through more than 2,500 auditions. Originally, the character has been famously played by Harrison Ford. The movie will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

The Han Solo film will have screenplay by Jon Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan. It is also known that the movie will have everybody’s favourite wookiee Chewbacca as well. The filmmakers have planned for a 2018 release for the film. This year, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released on December 16. The movie might also feature the new Han Solo.
