Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Now Highest-Grossing Actor

Harrison Ford has played iconic characters in his illustrious career. He is best known for his role as Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise and Dr. Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones in the Indiana Jones series. Now the actor has become the highest grossing Hollywood actor.

Ford has 41 movies in his kitty which have earned $4.7 billion. The success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens plays a great role in his ranking. The 73-year-old overtook the previous record holder Samuel L. Jackson whose 68 movies have grossed a total of $4.6 billion.

The other three actors in the top five list are Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman and Eddie Murphy. Ford started his career with Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round in 1966. His first iconic role was in the 1977 film Star Wars: A New Hope as Han Solo. In 1984, he took on another iconic character, Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
