Helen Mirren to be honoured with Fellowship at BAFTA

Hitchcock actor Helen Mirren will be awarded with the Fellowship at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The actress will be given this highest accolade on February 16, this year. The event will take place at Royal Opera House, London. Mirren will be bestowed by the Fellowship for her outstanding contribution to the film industry.

“Dame Helen Mirren receives the Fellowship as one of the most outstanding actresses of her generation. Dame Helen’s incredibly successful career is testament to the determination, dedication and skill she brings to each of her roles,” said John Willis, chairman of BAFTA. On receiving this honour, Helen said, “This is the greatest professional honor I can imagine, certainly one I never dreamt of as a schoolgirl in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. To join that list of legendary names is overwhelming.”
