The 12th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, organised to help the homeless of LA become educated and employed, has managed to raise a total of $1.4 million for the noble cause. Many thanks should go to the group of Hollywood stars and industrialists without whom the event would never be a success.

Celebrities like Colin Farrell, Chris Pine, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, J.J. Abrams, Ben McKenzie, Kim Raver, Russell Simmons, David O. Russell, Ali Larter, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart-Dane took out time from their busy schedules to make it to the Butterfly Ball. The special show was hosted by Max Greenfield replacing last year’s host Seth MacFarlane. Musical performances by Aloe Blacc and The Bird and the Bee added to the entertainment of the evening. This ball gathers stars from Hollywood to honour them for their contribution in aiding the city’s homeless population.

A red carpet and an outdoor cocktail reception started off the show followed by a gala dinner and the awards ceremony. Chrysalis’ 2013 featured client, Johnny Gutierrez received the annual John Dillon Award for his success in maintaining fulltime employment. The ball was financed by Audi, Carnevale at The Venetian Las Vegas, Grey Goose Vodka and philanthropic partner Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors Foundation.
