    To start with the flashback, we have to begin with Disney’s Iron Man 3 which has created history with $406.4 million at the domestic box-office. The Robert Downey Jr. flick also defeated its super-successful predecessor Iron Man 2 and soared to a global collection of $1.21 billion. Second comes the latest Superman reboot, Man of Steel. It has already earned $542.9 million worldwide and is eyeing a likely $700 million finish.The tale ofWarner Bros. profitable success has been reinstated by Henry Cavill.

    Universal’s Fast & Furious franchise is an unstoppable one with its sixth edition earning $117 million in its holiday weekend. It has been the best one in the entire series with its domestic collection of $235.4 million and $695 million in the global market. Fox’s The Croods began a successful spell of animated films of this year as it emerged as a domestic hit with $185.1 million and a worldwide blockbuster with $578.5 million. A literary adaptation, The Great Gatsby, was not assured of making it big at the box-office but it managed to make it to the most remembered ones’ list of 2013 with $142.5 million business domestically and $321 million worldwide. We have to keep our eyes wide open for the next half of the year as it looks more promising with the recent success stories of animated projects, Monsters University and Despicable Me 2.
