    The64th PrimetimeEmmy Awards, which was held yesterday night here, was a veryglamorous and unpredictable affair withawards going to Damian Lewis and Claire Danes ofHomelandand Jon Cryer ofTwo and a Half Men.

    The show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, began with bathroom humor: A filmed bit with Kathy Bates, Zooey Deschanel and other nominees prepping in the restroom, then discovering a weeping Kimmel lamenting a Botox reaction he said would keep him off stage as host. This year’s event has also proved itself a winner with the audiences as nearly 13.5 million viewers watched it. In the category of best comedy series,Modern Familywon its third-straight award, whereasMad Men, which was seeking its record fifth-straight Emmy, was beaten byHomelandin a drama series. While Aaron Paul won best supporting drama actor forBreaking Badand Maggie Smith bagged the best supporting drama actress award forDownton Abbey,Homelandwon the best writing award. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jon Cryer were among the winners in the comedy categories. Among reality competitors,The Amazing Racewas honored as best reality series, ninth time in 10 nominations for the award and Tom Bergeron ofDancing With the Starswon as best host of a reality series.
