How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor (Ted Mosby) is getting into sci-fi. He will direct a sci-fi drama called The Leaves, based on a Virgin Comics (now Liquid Comics) one-shot comic of the same name. Summit Entertainment acquired the rights to the graphic novel way back in 2008.

The Leaves is the story of a young man who lands in a parallel universe after a freak accident in India. He keeps insisting to the love of his life that they are soul mates. There is just one issue. She doesn’t recognize him with any amount of convincing. Whatever other plot details exist must be trapped in another dimension.

Josh has previously directed two films, both of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival: happythankyoumoreplease and Liberal Arts. Radnor has won a bunch of awards at the fest and the latter got multiple standing ovations, but neither really lit up the box office once they hit a wider market. The Leaves was written by Christopher Kyle and Kevin J. Walsh, with Radnor himself doing a pass.
