I Hope This Doesn't Bring Up Hatred: Angelina Jolie On First They Killed My Father

Angelina Jolie is all occupied these days with her upcoming venture, First They Killed My Father. While the film has been made in the backdrop of genocide in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge communist party's regime, Jolie is hoping that the people of Cambodia like it. She is optimistic about the film and is looking forward to it.

The Sail actress said, "I hope this doesn't bring up hatred. I hope this doesn't bring up blame. I hope the people of this country are proud when they see it, because they see what they've survived". The film is adapted from the autobiography of Cambodian human rights activist Loung Ung, who is also a friend of Jolie. It tells the story of the devastation inflicted on the South East Asian nation by the Khmer Rouge.

Helmed by Jolie herself, the film is being shot in Cambodia. Promotions for the project have been going on in the Siem Reap province in Cambodia. On a related note, Jolie made her first public appearance without her wedding and engagement ring with her all the kids after the ugly divorce with ex-husband Brad Pitt.
