‘I would like to get back into those jets’: Tom Cruise on Top Gun Sequel

Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise says that reprising his role as Maverick, in the 1986 hit flick Top Gun, ‘would be fun’. He played Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a highly skilled naval aviator in the original movie. The producers of the film and chief executive of Sky dance media company, David Ellison, have said that the screenplay for the Top Gun sequel is in progress.

At the London premiere of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Cruise said, “It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets. It would have to be practical. I don't want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one”.

53-year-old Cruise who is known for performing his own stunts will be returning as Ethan Hunt in the next Mission Impossible movie. In the last instalment, he was seen swinging on the side of Burj Khalifa and this time, he will be hanging on the side of a plane while it takes off. MI: Rogue Nation will be releasing on August 7.
