Ian McKellen to act in A Slight Trick of the Mind as Sherlock Holmes

It is being reported that Ian McKellen has been roped in to play Sherlock Holmes in Bill Condon’s A Slight Trick of the Mind. The actor is now a part of the cast that includes Richard III, Gandalf and Magneto. The film is an adaptation of Mitch Cullin’s novel of the same name. The screenplay of the flick will be done by Jeffrey Hetcher.
The story revolves around a man named Sherlock Holmes, who is aged and unable to walk without a walking stick. He lives with a housekeeper and his son, and talks to the son about his life before he forgets it entirely as he is habitual of forgetting things. Ian McKellen seems to be an appropriate choice for the role and his fans would love to see him play Sherlock Holmes.
