    Idris Elba Reveals How ‘Guerilla’ Is Related To His Personal Life!

    English actor, producer, musician and DJ Idris Elba is known to have starred in movies such as The Dark Tower, Star Trek Beyond and RocknRolla. The actor has also starred in many drama series such as The Wire, The Office and is currently starring as DCI John Luther in Luther. The actor will be be next seen in a six part English drama mini-series based in early 1970s London and against the backdrop of the Immigration Act 1971 and British black power movements.



    The mini-series has been titled as ‘Guerilla’ and will also star Frieda Pinto. Recently, the actor exhibited about the show’s importance to him. He further mentioned that he feels special to get the opportunity to depict a story which reflects his personal history. He was quoted as saying, “I was born in Hackney 1972 and I remember having a very happy childhood, but my dad would tell a different story. And that story is what we're bringing to life in 'Guerrilla'. As a child, I was shielded from some of the harsher aspects of prejudice but as I grew older, I talked to my parents about what they went through and the problems they faced”.     



    He closed his statement saying, “And so, the opportunity to bring to life a story that reflects some of my personal history is really special to me. We filmed some of the tea house scenes right near my childhood home, and so some days walking to set felt like walking back in time. I couldn't not be a part of a project like this”. ‘Guerrilla’ airs on Sky Atlantic and Showtime.
