For over two months, some of the biggest stars in the world - Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill - have been shuttling between London, Los Angeles, and other cities to complete work on Justice League. A new inside report details the troubles behind Warner Bros huge superhero movie.

Variety reports that the reshoots - which have lasted longer than most films’ production schedules - are said to have set the studio back $25 million (Rs 161 crore). Usually, reshoots for major movies cost between $6 and $10 million.

While some stars (Affleck, Gadot) aren’t working on any other projects, scheduling Henry Cavill into the mix has been difficult. The actor is juggling between his role in Mission Impossible 6 and Justice League. But to further complicate matters, Paramount (the studio behind the sixth MI movie) is refusing to let him shave off the moustache he grew for the movie. It will be digitally removed later in Justice League.

Avengers director Joss Whedon stepped in to finish Justice League after original director Zack Snyder had to leave the project following a personal tragedy.

At the recently concluded San Diego Comic Con, Ray Fisher, who plays Cyborg in the film, downplayed the gravity of the situation. “They’re brief if anything,” he said, talking about the reshoots. “Zack picked a great director to help clean up for us.”

Ben Affleck also took the opportunity to reassure fans at Comic Con that he is indeed their Batman, putting to rest weeks worth of rumours that Warner Bros and Affleck are splitting up.

Justice League is still on track to open in November 2017.
