Puzzle, Starring Irrfan Khan And Kelly MacDonald Begins Shooting

Actor Irrfan, who wooed audience with a spectacular performance in Hindi Medium, is back in action in Hollywood. The actor’s next film, Puzzle, was announced in May and according to a close source, he has already started shooting for the same in New York. In the film, being helmed by by American director Marc Turtletaub, Irrfan would be seen playing the lead role opposite Britsh actor Kelly Macdonald.

“Irrfan is playing a New Yorker in the film and he has already started shooting in New York. The shoot will continue for another month or so,” says the source.

According to a report in the Hollywood Reporter, the film revolves around the life of a suburban mother, who is caught in caring for the men in her family. When she discovers she has a gift for assembling puzzles, her world begins to open and her entire family is forced to adjust and grow as well.

“It’s a lead role for him [Irrfan]. The story follows the coming of age of a 49-year-old woman, and Irrfan plays an important character that leads the story further. It is being produced by the same people who produced Little Miss Sunshine and The Loving, so they are known for making small budget films. He is really excited about the project,” adds the source.

Irrfan’s last Hollywood outing was in Tom Hanks starrer Inferno (2016). Before that, his Hollywood filmography includes Jurassic World, Life of Pi and Slumdog Millionaire. His co star- Kelly Macdonald’s was last seen in the sequel to Danny Boyle’s 1998 Trainspotting, T 2 Trainspotting. The film will also star Bubba Weiler (The Good Fight), Austin Abrams (Paper Towns) and Liv Hewson (Top of the Lake).
