Is Leonardo DiCaprio The Next 'Joker'?

Recently Warner Bros. announced that it will be working on two movie projects related to the DC Comics villain ‘Joker’. The first project will be a standalone Joker movie which will be helmed by Todd Phillips and is rumoured to have Martin Scorsese as the executive producer. This project will not have Jared Leto as ‘Joker’.

There are rumours that if Scorsese comes on board for this project, there is a major possibility of Leonardo DiCaprio becoming the next ‘Joker’. As DiCaprio has always been Scorsese’s first choice for his movies after Robert De Niro. Moreover, the role will suit Leonardo after knowing the fact that he perfectly impersonated his The Departed co-star Jack Nicholson, who also portrayed the role of ‘Joker’.

Although, this is a far-fetched project for The Revenant star who already has many upcoming projects. The second project will be an extension to the DC Universe, starring Leto as ‘The Joker’ and Margot Robbie as ‘Harley Quinn’. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who are currently helming the drama series This Is Us, are in the final talks of helming the Joker-Harley project.
