Is This Trio Coming Back For A Season 2 For This Dark Comedy Sitcom

Actress Reese Witherspoon just posted a cryptic post on her Instagram account hinting a second season of the dark comedy ‘Big Little Lies’ in the works. The Oscar winner shared a photo of herself with co-stars Laura Dern and Nicole Kidman. The Instagram image post caption read, ‘Spending #SundayFunday with these ladies… working on some new lies’ using the See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil monkey emojis.

Although it is said that the photo has nothing to do with a follow-up season. Rather, the three actresses were simply doing a photo shoot together. But, there have been several instances in which the possibility of a second season has been hinted. Actress Laura Dern told Vanity Fair in early April, 'We had the time of our lives making this. People are asking us a lot if there is room for a Season 2 of this, and I know there is a lot of discussion, so. . . whatever it is, we will come up with something really fun for sure.' Even the Australian author of the book version of Big Little Lies, Liane Moriarty showed keen interest in writing a new storyline for the second season of the television sitcom.

The sitcom which was aired from February to April on a cable channel proved to be a hit. Witherspoon, 41 year old also serves as an an executive producer on the widely popular show, has been a big supporter of continuing the main female characters’ stories in a second season. The sitcom also stars Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgard, Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz and James Tupper
