Jack Sparrow Surprises Children at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital

Known for his versatile roles in films like Edward Scissorhands, The Lone Ranger, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and Pirates of the Caribbean, actor Johnny Depp visited a children’s hospital dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, mingling with the kids and taking pictures. The event was organized by the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

He jokingly asked a kid while taking a selfie with him, “Now, if there’s other people in it, why do you call it a selfie?” The children were extremely delighted as the character of Jack Sparrow has gained a lot of appreciation since the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie in 2003. The visit was filmed for Juiced TV, an Australian children’s show.

Currently, Depp is working on the fifth instalment of the franchise, titled ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’. It is being directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, and Jeff Nathanson is writing the screenplay. The movie will be released on July 7, 2017 in the U.S.
