    A true World War 2 story is nearing the Hollywood front. The written account of ‘The Lost Airman: A True Story of Escape From Nazi-Occupied France’ is gearing up for its filming. As per a Hollywood Reporter, Jake Gyllenhaal is all set to collaborate with John Lesher for the upcoming project. The Day After Tomorrow actor will both star in and produce the film.

    Originally written by Seth Meyerowitz, the non-fiction book is picked up by Amazon Studios. The book and the film are based on the story of Arthur Meyerowitz, who was an American turret-gunner. According to the recently declassified material, Arthur Meyerowitz’s B-24 bomber was shot down in 1943 over Vichy France.

    Hiding in the countryside, Meyerowitz acquainted with Marcel Talliander who ensured availability of shelter for the man. Arthur’s new found friend was also the founder of Morhange, the legendary French resistance group and hence helped him through secret network. Six months later, Meyerowitz drew out his escape plan which also involved R.F.W.

    The storyline revolves around the survival and escape of Arthur Meyerowitz whose role will be played by Jake. Fans and Desimartini await the movie’s release and hope for its success.
