James Cameron has shared his intentions to make four sequels to the 2009 hit sci-fi flick, Avatar. Earlier, Cameron announced only three instalments, but seems like the 61-year-old director has even grander plans in mind. The Canadian filmmaker revealed that the movies will have a separate plot, but all together would form a complete picture with the last release.

The announcement was made by Cameron at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. During the event, the film maker stated, "We're making four epic films that stand-alone but together form a saga. These movies were designed to be seen in theatres first. I've been working with the top four screenwriters and designers in the world to design the world of Avatar going forward”.

He continued, “The environments, new cultures; from what I'm seeing, the art on the wall. In pure imagination is just beyond the first film. I'm speechless". The Titanic editor also disclosed his plans of unleashing the three films around Christmas in 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
