James Franco is set to travel in time
According to sources, James Franco has been cast as the lead in Hulu and Warner Bros. adaptation of 11/22/63, a time-traveling novel centred on the Kennedy assassination written by horror master Stephen King. Bridget Carpenter will write the 11/22/63 script and executive produce the series alongside King and Bad Robot’s Bryan Burk. Franco will also serve as one of the series producers.
Franco will star in 11/22/63 as high school English teacher Jake Epping, who goes back in time hoping to prevent President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The historical sci-fi series, announced in September 2014, comes from Warner Bros. Television and J.J. Abram’s Bad Robot Productions. Stephen King said previously, right around the time of the series announcement that, “if I ever write a book that cries out for longform, event-TV programming, “11/22/63′ is it.” Franco film credits include The Interview, This is the End, Milk, 127 Hours and Pineapple Express.
