    Sony is in process to updatethe classic comic strip-turned-musicalAnniein collaboration with producersWill SmithandJay-Z and they are engaged in negotiations with Jamie Foxx to cast himoppositeQuvenzhane Wallis.

    Foxx has been in talks toplay a character named Benjamin Stacks, who would be a variation of the figure of Daddy Warbucks. Wallis will play an orphan girl in the flick. According to sources, theDjango Unchainedstar’s team has started negotiations with the studio immediately after receiving the offer. The project, under the supervision of Will Gluck, will be produced jointly by Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment banner partnerJames Lassiter, Jada Pinkett-SmithandJay-Z. The script by Emma ThompsonandAline Brosh McKenna has already been edited by the director himself.
