Jane Fonda Reveals Shocking Details From Her Past!

In a recent interview with The Edit magazine, some shocking details about Jane Fonda’s past have come to light. The veteran actress revealed that she was raped and sexually abused when she was a child. She was present for the interview with Brie Larson where the duo spoke about feminism in this patriarchal society.

“I've been raped, I've been sexually abused as a child, and I've been fired because I wouldn't sleep with my boss”, Jane revealed. The On Golden Pond actress has been quite active in promoting women’s rights and established the Jane Fonda Center for Adolescent Reproductive Health in 2001. While talking about her efforts over the years, Jane revealed, “I know young girls who've been raped and didn't even know it was rape. They think, 'It must have been because I said 'no' the wrong way”.

Brie responded to Fonda by telling her that the only power she has in her career is the word ‘no’. To this, Fonda replied, “If anyone offered me anything I would say yes. I took parts I wasn't right for and I was taken advantage of. I didn't know how to stand up for myself. Now, I would say, 'No. This is a piece of s—. I don't like the way you're treating me’ and leave".

Jane is a strong and independent woman and a role model for females across the globe. By sharing her story, the veteran actress has reminded everyone that sexual assault is still widespread and that it needs to be fought and eliminated.
