Jared Leto Roped In For Andy Warhol Biopic

The Hollywood Reporter has stated that Dallas Buyers Club actor Jared Leto has been roped in for a biopic on Andy Warhol. Andy was an American artist who was known for his leading experience in the visual art movement. The biopic will be penned by Terrence Winter.

Andy was responsible for launching the Pop Art movement in the 1960s. He ran a studio in New York called The Factory which gave birth to several artists like late musician Lou Reed and late Jean-Michel Basquiat. He was one of the most recognized celebrities for his out of the box fashion sense. Andy passed away at the age of 58 in 1987.

The biopic will be produced by Michael De Luca and Jared. The project has not found a director as of yet. The movie will be based on Victor Bockris’ book ‘Warhol: The Biography’ which was published in 1989. Andy has been portrayed on screen several times in the past by actors like Crispin Glover, David Bowie, Jared Harris and Guy Pearce.
