Javier Bardem Talks About Pablo Escobar

Spanish actor Javier Bardem is known to have starred in movies such as No Country for Old Men, Skyfall and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The 48-year-old actor will be next seen as the cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar. The upcoming movie will be titled as ‘Loving Pablo’.

Bardem recently revealed his reason behind finally opting to portray the role after rejecting so many previous offers to play Escobar. He was quoted as saying, “When I started to dig into this character almost 10 years ago, he wasn't as much in the public eye. I was attracted to this movie because it's about what's in his mind, how he could have that greed when he basically had it all”.

He further revealed that he had never experienced the real side of Pablo Escobar and now he knows the individual. He ended his statement saying, “I wanted to portray a real Pablo Escobar, because that's the scary part. He was a human being, he was not a machine, he was not an idea, he was a person. I didn't see that in those projects”. The actor has been studying Escobar for many years. ‘Loving Pablo’ will revolve around the love story of Pablo and journalist Virginia Vallejo. The movie will also star Bardem’s spouse Penelope Cruz, who will star as Vallejo.
