Jennifer Lopez joins Chilean miner film ‘The 33’

The 43-year-old actress-singer-TV judge-fashion designer has been officially signed to star opposite Antonio Banderas in the upcoming film, The 33. The Chilean miner flick revolves around the captivating story of 33 Chilean miners who were freed after being rapt underground for 69 days in the year 2010. Though the details on Lopez's role are still under the wrap, but Banderas will be seen playing the role of the alluring miner Mario Sepulveda.

The drama will be produced by Mike Medavoy and Ed McGurn whereas Carlos Eugenio Lavin and Leopoldo Enriquez will be the executive producers of the flick. The 33’s screenplay is written by Mikko Alanne and Jose Rivera and Patricia Riggen will go behind the camera to give direction to it. The flick will go on the floors in Spring in Chile. JLo was last seen acting under the direction of Taylor Hackford for a bone-crunching action-thriller, Parker opposite Jason Statham.
